I miss riding soooo much! I decided to do a poker run on the train into Chicago to celebrate 20 years with my soul mate, Rich.
We have logged 56,000 miles side by side on the road and approximately about 47,000 2up. That's adding mileage up on all our bikes and rounding to the nearest 1,000. I know my solo miles on all my bikes, so I just added Rich's total miles on all his bikes, and subtracted my solo to get our 2 up miles. When you put that many miles on the road together, you create a pretty strong bond.
Back to my train poker run; I put it out on facebook and email to all our friends to see how many would be interested. I have 15 people so far. IT'S A GO!!!!
We will start at a train station centrally located between the farthest guests. We will get a weekend train pass and make 4 stops into the city; the last card will be drawn at the Chicago station. Then we will partay in the city!
How's that for an anniversary party.

Healing
Rich went back to work last week. They said he would be off about 10 - 12 weeks. He went back after 6. He has healed really up well. He is on light duty and he did have to come home early a couple days but he's doing pretty good.
Friday we met some friends for dinner and went to their house for drinks. We decided to stay over night after having a few. Better safe than sorry.
This friend has an apartment building and one of our other friends rents from him. They just lost their son to cancer last Wednesday, he was only 39 and had two young kids, 9 and 11. What do you say to someone who just lost their child. Even at 39, they are still your children. I just hugged her.
This week is going to be very busy for me at work. My boss is in St. Marin. I am in my busy time and on top of my usual work, I will be excepting all checks, chaxes, and credit card payments. I will have to find where the money goes, code the payments, and run everything over to the other building everyday. Then after it is posted and cleared, I will have to log all the payments to their jobs. Since the sales staff can't seem to do math, I will be going over all their contracts to check the math before they go for approval. I will also be in charge of requesting all new customer numbers and requesting all blocks to be removed when needed. Since we are on a prepay basis, to get a new customer number, I have to scan the signed contract, fill out a form and show where the money is, then submit it all to the credit department for approval. We are a publicly traded company so everything has to be proven and SOX compliant. SOX is a set of rules and regulations that are mandatory for all publicly traded companies to prevent fraud. Basically it prevents any one from being able to post, move money, or create customers, without someone else approving it. There's more to it but that's the part of it that effects my job.
Guess I should get to bed so I can get a good start tomorrow. Wish me luck!
